Pack 501 was founded in December of 2011 with official Chartering beginning in January 2012.
Pack 501 was begun by a group of parents spliting off from Pack 136 (www.ncacpack136.Scoutlander.com)
The parents formed a not for profit organization: Friends of Pack 501 who would in turn Charter the Pack.
Leesylvania Elementary School helped the Pack with meeting rooms on week nights and Sacred Heart Catholic Church has supported the Pack with weekend facilities use.
(For more background on where the 501 number came from, check out our "Tidbits" section for some bonus out of this galaxy fun.)
The Pack was founded with 15 boys. Within 2 months the Pack was at 20 boys.
In the Spring of 2012, our first Tiger Den of three boys completed their requirements.
This will be the first group of our founding boys who will be able to go through all of Cub Scouts as Pack 501!!
In November 2012, we processed our 60th Scout Application! Woo hoo! 501! 501! 501! Yeah!
